What is Rebel Science?

What is Rebel Science?

Rebel science is about embracing the lessons of nature and bringing the science of our ancestry and evolutionary biology up to date with the latest findings in quantum biology. Rebel science fights against pressures to comply and conform, of expectations to be a certain way and follow the herd.

In rebelling, we can remain true to our authentic selves. Rebel science teaches us to embrace practices that keep us physically and psychologically healthy and fit and take time to reflect on what matters. It challenges and monitors us to ensure that what we are doing aligns with what matters to us. We can experiment with ourselves and find the right formula that works for us. Humans are not one-size-fits-all.

Rebel Scientist Podcast

Rebel Scientist Podcast

Russ (Co-host and producer)

Paul (Producer)

In this podcast, Sarah Turner, the Rebel Scientist, shares biohacking’s benefits and practical applications. A radical new approach to health, biohacking focuses on a deeper understanding of your body, its natural rhythms, and strategies for taking care of it. Throughout the podcast, Sarah and her guests speak about different ways to strengthen your health through alternative therapies like Red Light Therapy, Foraging, Microdosing, Chronobiology, and Remote Healing.

Rebel Scientist is produced by Paul and Russ of ‘Breaking the Grey’. According to Paul and Russ, “BTG is a media network that showcases stories, voices, and revelations that inform, entertain, and inspires each and every one of us to take action in our lives and to actualize the best versions of ourselves. A better you means a better world around you and a calmer, more livable planet for all of us.”

In Season 1, we discuss Rebel Science as a way of looking at health that embraces the role of nature and the growing field of quantum biology. To rebel is to resist any authority, control, or tradition based on dogma and outdated science. To rebel does not necessarily mean totally dismissing mainstream science, but to use your own research and discernment on what works for you, based on scientific analysis of the facts available, not on what you are told or the current mainstream narrative. This also means taking responsibility for your own health, wealth, and happiness.

In Season 2, Sarah opens up her little black book and introduces some of her favorite people who are not only talking the talk but walking the walk with regards to living according to the rules of nature. We will be speaking with true rebels doing it their way, you might just learn something interesting!

Meet Sarah

For as long as I can remember, I have always had an interest in science (especially biology) and why things are the way they are or how they are. I first studied biology and psychological science for my bachelor’s degree and later began my career in the pharmaceutical industry, first at Roche products and then going on to the scientific research department at GSK (GlaxoSmithKline), working mainly on drug delivery systems.

It was at GSK, while studying the effects of electrostatics on drug deposition in the lungs that I started to get an insight into the massive role of the environment on the health of the individual, especially concerning the environment inside the body (hydration, nutrition, and mindset) and outside the body (environmental charge and light exposure). After observing this, I decided to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in nutritional medicine and crossed over from orthodox science to alternative and complementary health.

After completing a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Neuroscience and moving to open-minded California, I became involved in the biohacking movement. My world expanded into new scientific and practical health applications of therapeutic devices, bio-magnetism, circadian biology, and the role of physics in biology with a focus on brain health.

I am currently the science advisor at Light Tree Ventures in the Netherlands and a Research Associate at the QuietMind foundation in Philadelphia. I host a podcast on Rebel Science topics, regularly speak on the use of light therapies for health and performance, and, along with a team of coaches, provide 1:1 consultations on sunlight, red light therapy, nature cure, and health technologies. I believe that anyone at any age can improve chronic health issues and find optimal wellbeing.
