Rebel Science

As we all emerge from lockdowns, one of the first priorities will be restoring health after months of little exercise, poor diet, and enforced solitude. People will be looking for new ideas about health, and greater openness to alternatives that make sense in a post-COVID world. They need the first podcast of its kind to break the grey of biohacking. A rebel is a person who stands up for their own personal opinions despite what anyone else says. A scientist is someone who systematically gathers and uses research and evidence, to make hypotheses about the world and test them, to gain and share understanding and knowledge. So what is a Rebel Scientist? A person who stands up for their own personal opinions despite what the experiment says to push science to a very uncomfortable place. If you’re looking to better understand biohacking, our host, scientist Sarah Turner will shine a

light on the shadows of rebel science to help you better understand it.

The Host: SARAH TURNER

Sarah developed her science knowledge and principles of research with two bachelor of science degrees from esteemed London Universities and her master’s degree from world-leading University of Roehampton. To gain experience in strict science testing, she joined GSK (GlaxoSmithKline), the world’s sixth largest pharma company, then expanded her research with Roche Products and MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme). Crossing over from science into the trailblazing work of biohackers, her research expanded into new scientific and practical health applications of therapeutic devices, bio-magnetism, circadian biology, and the role of physics in quantum biology. This exclusive Podcast for Sarah’s radical science approaches, exclusively for her audience. She is highly in-demand as a speaker and consultant in pursuit of new formulas for body-mind balance.

My Inspirations

Mae-Wan Ho – was a geneticist known for her critical views on genetic engineering and evolution. She has authored or co-authored a number of publications, including 10 books, such as The Rainbow and the Worm, and Living Rainbow H2O. I saw her speak many times and had the pleasure to interview here at her home in London. A great scientist and artist – ‘really beautiful theories are usually true’. What I learnt from her:

  • That there is coherence and harmony in living being and the environment – everything is connected.

  • To look for patterns and beauty to find the answers.

  • To question what we know or are taught. Look for alternative theories.

Dr. Jack Kruse – Light, water, and magnetism and the connection to body processes with focus on mitochondria. We’ve met many times at several event, webinars and blogs- one of the most interesting scientists of our age. What I learnt from him:

  • To look at things from a different perspective.

  • To be guided by nature.

Kruse looks through the lens of physics – this is very different to biology. This was a total revelation to me and I wish I had this knowledge earlier. Kruse makes it hard to understand, deliberately, you really have to do your own thinking and learning to understand where he is coming from. One of the most interesting and certainly the most influential on my current thinking of how we are connected to our environment through light, water and magnetism.

Others that have inspired my career are Candace Pert, a leading thinker around molecules of emotion. Her belief is that there are chemical substances that are the key to emotion, a mind body connection. Also, Mark Sisson, author of Primal Blueprint. His teachings allowed me to understand:

  • That we are still functioning according to a primal blueprint – we have not had time to adapt to our modern indoor life-

  • That the closer we get to how our bodies have evolved – the closer we can get to health.

  • In contrast to Kruse – his message is simple and easy to understand- (to grok).
